Effect of the injection

The effect of the injection can be difficult to predict. If the pain disappears, there is a high probability that the injection will also help in the longer term. Often the injection is helpful in the diagnosis and planning of the further course of treatment.

If it helps, but the symptoms return – typically after 3 – 4 weeks – additional injections can be administered. In some cases one injection is sufficient. In other cases it does not help at all or only briefly. It is important that you record how long the injection works.
