Spermatocele or epididymal cyst occurs most frequently in adult men. It is a cyst formation at the epididymis or vas deferens. The cysts are benign and should therefore only be treated if they cause symptoms.
What is a spermatocele?
A spermatocele is a fluid-filled outpouching in the epididymis, also called a cyst. Spermatoceles can also occur in plural, are completely harmless and develop spontaneously in men without the cause being fully known.
Symptoms of spermatocele
- In the scrotum, masses can be felt in the epididymis, from a single cyst to a “bunch of grapes” or a larger combined mass.
- The condition rarely causes tenderness
