How the examination is conducted

During the consultation, we review your symptoms and medical history, and the doctor assesses the skin thoroughly. If allergy is suspected, the investigation can be supplemented with a patch test. Here, the skin is tested for contact allergy to, for example, metals, preservatives, perfume and other substances you may encounter in your everyday life.

The patch test takes place over three visits and provides a clear picture of whether your skin reacts to specific exposures. This helps us plan a treatment that both relieves symptoms and reduces the risk of relapse.

Treatment

The treatment is tailored to your skin and the severity of the eczema. It can include, among other things:

  • Treatment of skin infections if necessary
  • Medicated creams and ointments
