Ankle pain

Are you struggling with ankle pain? Pain in the ankle often occurs in connection with sports activities. Often it is a matter of overuse injuries, but the pain can also be due to osteoarthritis in the ankle or rheumatoid arthritis in the ankle.

If you have pain in your ankle, our consultants are ready to help you, so you can quickly get the correct diagnosis, whether you pay yourself, have health insurance or come through the public waiting time guarantee.

Examination

Since pain, swelling and possibly reduced mobility in the ankle can be due to many different causes, it may be necessary for the consultant to perform several different examinations in order to find the correct diagnosis. In the first instance, the doctor will often perform an ultrasound scan, but X-ray and MRI scan may also be necessary.

How do we treat your ankle pain?

Treatment of your ankle pain can be anti-inflammatory medication, blockade treatment with corticosteroid, physiotherapy or operation. The consultant will carefully inform you about the treatment options.
