A skiing holiday means physical activity every day – and if you are not normally active in everyday life, it is important to prepare your body.
Every year, up to 500,000 Danes go on skiing holidays, but unfortunately very few have prepared themselves well enough to glide down the slopes. According to European ERV, around 10,000 return home with major or minor injuries, which makes the skiing holiday a less enjoyable experience.

For many, knee problems are a fact of life. The slopes are particularly hard on the knees because the knee is affected both from above by the hip/pelvis and from below by the ankles/feet.
Our consultant (specialist doctor) in sports injuries Søren Winge estimates that over 50% of our skiing injuries can be avoided if we train our body before going on a skiing holiday. Here we give 5 tips on how you can prepare your body for the skiing holiday.
