Nasal allergy

Nasal allergy is a common condition and can affect anyone.  Symptoms of nasal allergy most often debut in adulthood, but in some cases symptoms are already present from teenage years. The allergy may be caused by pollen and be seasonal, or be of a more chronic nature. It can be difficult to identify what the allergy is caused by.

A thorough mapping of symptoms and examination of the nose is necessary to proceed.

Symptoms of nasal allergy

• Poor nasal airflow
• Frequent sneezing
• Runny nose
• Reduced sense of smell

If you experience symptoms of either chronic or periodic nature, it may be nasal allergy.

Examination

You are offered an outpatient consultation with a review of your nasal symptoms and an endoscopic examination of your nose. If there is suspicion that you also have sinus problems, the examination will be supplemented with a CT scan of the sinuses.

Treatment

Based on your symptoms and the conclusions of the examinations, we will guide and advise you on which treatment will be the best for you. 
 
If you also have allergy symptoms in the form of cough or affected breathing, we can offer you an allergological work-up with our allergist and pulmonary medicine specialist.
